About

Maureen’s decades of start-up and strategic leadership experience include serving as the co-founding and serving as COO of Ignition Ventures, where she and GGC Managing Partner Amy Salzhauer helped start companies worth over US $1 billion out of science labs at MIT, Harvard, Cambridge, and Columbia. Maureen started her strategy career at Bain & Co as a consultant and team leader, in both the Boston and Sydney offices, then became an Associate Partner at IBM’s strategy practice leading Global Strategy Thought Leadership for four industries. Maureen has been a Mentor for MIT’s Sandbox Innovation accelerator since its launch in January 2016 and has been a part-time Consultant to Sandbox to help with its own growth strategy as it grew from 40 startups a year to 400+ startups each semester. She is an active member of MIT’s Angel community, sourcing deals from the groups in Boston, New York and California. Maureen has also been a Lecturer at MIT, and received the highest award for MIT alumni for her service to the Institute, the Great Dome Award. She serves as a board member for Eden GeoTech, Aralez Bio, and Blue Ocean Gear in addition to being an observer at Leuko, Liminal Insights and Encora Therapeutics. Maureen has served in the US Peace Corps in Fiji, designing and helping to build small water systems as a civil engineer. Maureen has traveled to 55 countries and lived in four, including more than seven years of international work experience in Asia. Maureen received her BS in Civil Engineering, magna cum laude, from Carnegie Mellon, an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management, and her MS & PhD in Engineering from MIT.

Amy brings twenty-four years of experience in finding transformative science companies and leading science-based businesses to the team, having served previously as the CEO of Ignition Ventures, where she and Good Growth Managing Partner Maureen Stancik Boyce helped start companies worth over US $1 billion out of science labs in areas such as chip-based fuel cells, self-organizing networks, selective brain cooling, and advanced materials. Amy is an inventor who holds several patents, speaks internationally about entrepreneurship and leadership, and serves on multiple for-profit and non-profit boards, including ABM Medical, Leuko Labs, Pleural Dynamics, Spiro Robotics, Tevard Biosciences, MTEC, the ASU Interplanetary Initiative, and the Roper St. Francis Hospital Foundation. Amy’s prior experience also includes writing for magazines like Newsweek, Science, Technology Review, and Harvard Business Review; researching radioactive mutant slime molds; winning a silver medal at the World Championships as a member of the U.S. National Dragonboat Team; and serving as the Assistant Director of a non-profit environmental organization in Washington D.C. She has been featured on the covers of multiple business magazines and her many recognitions include being chosen multiple times as a top “40 Under 40” business leader and being selected by the World Economic Forum as one of its “One Hundred Top Global Leaders for Tomorrow.” Amy holds an A.B. magna cum laude from Harvard University, an M.Phil in Plant Sciences from Cambridge University where she was a Herschel Smith Harvard Scholar; and an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management.

Carolyne has over two decades of experience helping companies create and launch products and services, most notably at Apple, where she spent over ten years launching and leading Apple businesses that now account for over half a trillion dollars in revenue. Carolyne held several roles at Apple, including lead producer for the iTunes Music Store US, establishing and leading the store teams, as well as developing the content management system. She led and launched iTunes Europe into 17 countries resulting in number one market share in those locations. launching and leading the App Store into 62 countries simultaneously. Carolyne is a board member at Unison Computing, Bounce Imaging, and board observer at Pryon. Carolyne is bilingual French/English, has worked and lived in England, Italy, France, and Saint Maarten (Netherlands Antilles), and has traveled extensively. Carolyne received a BA, cum laude, from Connecticut College, and an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, where she was a Fuqua Merit Scholar.

David joined Good Growth from Capital A Partners (“CapA”), where he was a Co-Founder and Managing Partner. CapA was the first VC in South Carolina and has returned over 9x to its investors. He also served as a Managing Director for the Techstars/Arcadis City of 2030 Accelerator (SmartCity focused) in Amsterdam, and was the NYC and London-based Managing Director at Katalyst Venture Partners, a MediaTech-focused fund. Prior to becoming a venture capitalist, David co-founded then successfully sold VC-backed B2B supply chain software company Supplybase.inc in 2000, with NEA as the lead investor. David spent the first 10 years of his career in several operational roles in engineering, business development and sales with GE, DuPont and Conoco, in the U.S. and U.K. where he managed the sales, technical development and distribution of advanced materials into the Electronics Hardware, Medical Device, Automotive, and Consumer Products sectors. He serves as a board member at Ateios, NALA Membranes, and MFNS and is a board observer at Boston Materials and Lemurian Labs. He has served on the Sr. Advisory Board for the College of Business at Clemson University, as well as on the Advisory Board for Clemson’s Spiro Center of Entrepreneurship and continues to guest lecture at Clemson and other Universities including the Rotterdam School of Business. David has significant international experience, including working with Conoco in the UK, Katalyst Venture Partners in the UK, Techstars in the Netherlands, and spending his 2nd year of MBA studies at KUL-Leuven (Belgium). David received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University, and an MBA from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at UNC Chapel Hill.

John joined Good Growth from his role as Executive Director of The Harbor Entrepreneur Center, a non-profit initiative dedicated to creating collision among entrepreneurs in the region. John co-founded The Harbour, then served as its first executive director for 5 years, during which he mentored 80 start-up companies participating in the Harbor Accelerator program. John also served as Executive Administrator of Charleston Angel Partners, a group that is an integral part of the start-up ecosystem in the Southeast region. During his tenure, he sourced and facilitated the cumulative investments of over $10M in early stage companies by accredited investors. John is a board member at Bone Health and an observer at Lindy BioSciences. He was also founder & CEO of Fundingcharleston.com. Prior to that, John spent over 10 years in the financial services industry including in commercial banking, private banking and wealth management for Regions Bank and Bank of America. Using his experience, John helps all Good Growth portfolio companies determine their optimal financial strategy. John is a scratch golfer, having played competitively in college. John received a BS in Finance, cum laude, from Charleston Southern University, where he played on a golf scholarship.

Sophie is a Principal at Good Growth Capital, where she spends her time focusing on new technology in clean efficient energy storage, natural resources circularity and renewables in Green Tech. She is responsible for managing the inbound deal flow process, due diligence, and assisting with fund administration, including tracking key metrics. She also has experience in public affairs, market research, and business development. Sophie received an A.B. in Government from Harvard University.

Jennifer is responsible for leading investor relations at Good Growth Capital. She focuses on building and enhancing relationships with new and existing investors. Jennifer joined the firm from HarbourVest Partners, most recently on the ESG team where she worked with clients to understand and help achieve their ESG objectives. Additionally, she worked with internal stakeholders to implement and monitor ESG standards and practices across the portfolio to advance the principles of sustainable investing. Prior to joining the ESG team, Jennifer was part of the institutional investor relations team at HarbourVest, where she supported the development of relationships with existing and prospective investors and assisted with the Firm’s fundraising efforts. Jennifer previously worked in institutional equity research sales at Wells Fargo Securities. Prior to that, she worked at Wellington Management Company. Jennifer received a BS in Business Administration in Finance and International Business from the University of Tennessee, and an MBA from Yale School of Management.

Aditi is a Senior Associate at Good Growth Capital, where she focuses her time on exploring the opportunities and cutting edge of data science. Aditi joined the Firm from Invest Detroit Ventures, the most active early stage investor in Michigan. During her time in this role, Aditi was focused on new deal and KPI development, and cultivating relationships with entrepreneurs and ecosystem partners across the Great Lakes region. Prior to that, Aditi worked at IBM where she worked on proprietary and open source cloud infrastructure products including IBM Cloud, Kubernetes, OpenStack and Docker. During her time in graduate school she interned at various venture funds and at CoderPad where she worked in product and data operations. Aditi received a BSE in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan, and a dual degree MBA/MS Data Science from University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.

Sam is an Associate at Good Growth Capital, and he spends his time focused on identifying and evaluating transformative life sciences companies that aim to address areas of unmet patient need. Sam joined the Firm from previous roles at L.E.K. Consulting & Prescient Healthcare Group. He worked as a life science consultant and provided strategic insights to biotech and pharmaceutical clients, specializing in commercial due diligence, indication expansions, market access, medical affairs, and go-to-market strategies. Sam received a BA in Biology from Colby College, where he also worked as a research assistant in Professor Ron Peck's microbiology lab.

Executive Assistant

Stephanie is responsible for handling scheduling, administrative duties, and communication at Good Growth Capital. Additionally, she leads special projects for the team, as well as data management. Stephanie joined the Firm from PJT Park Hill, where she worked as the Deal Assistant to two Partners. Prior to that, she worked as a catalog production manager, and led her own agency managing photographers and producing celebrity photo shoots and as the Executive Assistant to the CEO and Chairman of a global advertising agency. Stephanie received a BA in Communications and English from Rutgers University.
